Interactive and Educational Exploratory Expressions  of Visual Art, the Spoken Word and Improvisational Music

Featuring Nitza Danieli-Horner (Israeli Sculptor and Metropolitan Museum of Art Educator) and world renowned improvisational jazz musicians.

In this unique multi-media program the audience creates original artwork while exploring line, shape  and color found in live improvisational music, the spoken word, original artwork and slides from the  Metropolitan Museum of Art Collection. The musicians conclude the session by improvising and interpreting one or two selected works.

OUTLINE:

1. “Sculpting with Percussion”
     A dialogue between Sculptor by Nitza Danieli Horner and  Percussionist Tim Horner.

2. “Giant Steps” 
     Music by John Coltrane. Graphics and film by Michal Levy

3. “Paint the Music”
     Poem by Lauren Hooker. Interpretation by the Musicians.

4. “Paint a Picture”
      Improvisation by the Musicians, Artwork by the participants.

5. “Interpretation”
     The musicians conclude the session by improvising and interpreting one or two
      selected works.
